So, without further ado, here are the questions I’ve been given:
1. What is your favorite book and why?
My favorite book is Leaving Time, by Jodi Picoult. Her books have always been so powerful for me and evoke so much emotion, and that one in particular has so many different elements – love story, supernatural, mystery, tragedy, and also so informative. She really does her research and I learned a lot about elephants in that book (which I love!). It’s by far my favorite because it’s such a compelling story and you learn so much at the same time.
2. What song do you currently have on repeat?
“Unravel Me” by Sabrina Claudio.
3. Which season (spring, summer, winter, or fall) best describes you?
I would probably have to say summer, because I can’t stand being cold, I love the sun, and I’ve always been a water baby – not to mention that I try to have a sunny/positive attitude… (see what I did there?). Summers were always my favorite growing up because I sent so much time swimming.
4. In the event of an emergency evacuation, what is the first item you grab?
The practical part of me wants to say my wallet and important documents… but in all honesty I might go for my favorite books! It would be so hard to leave them behind.
5. Which historical figure would you most like to meet and why?
Ah, so many answers. Helen Keller, Eleanor Roosevelt, Cleopatra… Hard to choose but I suppose top of my list would be Rosa Parks, because of her bravery that started the civil rights movement. So inspiring.
6. What makes a good blog?
Still working on it! I’m definitely not an expert, but I’ve learned that being clear on your purpose, paying attention to what your audience responds to, and consistency are all key. Plus it helps to have an organized and fun/attractive look for your blog, in my opinion. But most of all I try to have fun with it.
7. Would you go back to the past or forward to the future?
That’s a tough one, because if I could go back in time I would definitely want to change some things in my life. However, I’m not sure any good would come of that since we learn from our mistakes and life experiences, so I’m going to say forward. Full speed ahead!
8. What is your dream vacation?
Can I say I want my life to feel like vacation? The dream is to live close the ocean and write every day, so I can do what I love and still be able to go to the beach whenever I want to. We’ll see if I can make that happen!
9. What is the greatest movie of all time?
I’ve always been infatuated with Lord of the Rings (the whole trilogy, but the Fellowship is probably my favorite). My dad read the books aloud to us growing up and I’ve loved the movies too since the first time I saw them. I can accurately quote an embarrassing amount of scenes…
10. Wealth or health?
Health! Wealth can come later.
11. What is your proudest moment?
A couple different ones come to mind – difficult to choose because they were at such different points in my life!
1 – being the student speaker and giving a speech at my high school graduation
2 – moving to a new state by myself
3 – leaving my toxic ex behind
